We are also very proficient in orthopedic surgical procedures, such as luxating patella correction, anterior cruciate repair (ACL), and fracture repair. Dr. LoBue has been performing orthopedic surgery for many years.
If your pet has an emergency that requires surgical intervention, we can also perform abdominal explores, GDV (bloat) correction, and other emergency procedures.
We generally use a combination of injectable and gas anesthesia. Patients are closely monitored during surgery using state-of-the-art monitoring equipment as well as having a trained veterinary technician physically monitoring throughout the procedure. Pain is well controlled with any surgery using a combination of pre-surgery medications as well as sending home pain medication.
Prior to surgery, Dr. LoBue highly recommends Pre-Anesthetic Blood Workup, Chest X-Rays, and ECG (electrocardiogram) ensuring the safest possible anesthesia & surgical experience for your pet. We perform laser therapy after all surgeries to accelerate the healing process and decrease inflammation.
