Dr. Jena Ahr

Dr. Jena Ahr

Veterinarian

Dr. Jena Ahr grew up in Frederick, Maryland and graduated from Louisiana State University in 2006. She practiced in Baton Rouge for ten years before leaving to practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for four years. Dr. Jena and her husband Case, son Martin, and dog, Cherry, decided to return to the Louisiana in 2020. Dr. Jena’s professional interests as a veterinarian include small animal internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, and feline medicine. Her hobbies include antiquing, traveling, and experiencing new cuisine. She is excited to be back in the state her family calls home to serve the greater Baton Rouge area!
Dr. Zachary Stephenson

Dr. Zachary Stephenson

Veterinarian

Dr. Zachary Stephenson is a native of Bastrop, Louisiana, and graduated high school from Ouacita Christian School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from Louisiana Tech University before earning his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University. Through his combined experiences at LA Tech and LSU, he solidified his passion for all things animal health. Zachary is married to Central native Emily Hodges Stephenson. He is excited about working at Crossroads Animal Hospital. Outside of work, Zachary is passionate about all things outdoors including hunting, fishing, and participating in triathlons.

I’ve been working at Crossroads Animal Hospital since 2021. I graduated from LSU with Bachelor’s degree in Biology. With 28 years of experience as a veterinary technician, I bring a deep passion for animal care and practice management to my role as Veterinary Practice Manager at Crossroads Animal Hospital. My journey in veterinary medicine has been fueled by a love for helping pets and their families thrive. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new places, diving into a good book, and spending quality time with my family and friends. Whether at the hospital or at home, building connections and supporting others is at the heart of everything I do.

I have been a veterinary technician for almost 10 years and continue to learn every day. Since I was a kid I knew my passion for animals would be used in a way that gives back to my community as well. In my free time I love to be with family and my own dogs. I also enjoy fishing, hunting, reading, traveling and brunch with friends.

I’ve always been passionate about animals, and that’s what led me to my career at Crossroads Animal Hospital. Since 2021, I’ve had the privilege of working as a Veterinary Technician, where I get to combine my love for animals with my dedication to helping them live healthier lives.

What I love most about my job is the opportunity to make a real difference—not just in the lives of the animals, but also for the people who love them.

When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, painting, and spending time with friends and family.

Kennel Manager, Groomer

I have been in veterinary medicine for about 12 years now and it is the field that I call home. From emergency to general medicine, I am very passionate about caring for all creatures from small to large and everything else in between. I take pride in treating client’s pets as if they were my very own and understanding every pet’s unique needs to ensure quality and comfortable care. I have been professionally involved in dog sports such as conformation shows, field trials, dock diving and barn hunt for about 15 years. I am also a licensed conformation dog show judge. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my Boykin Spaniels and Gordon Setter alongside riding my horses.

I’ve been a Kennel Technician and Veterinary Technician at Crossroads Animal Hospital for the past three years. I absolutely love working with animals, and my favorite parts of the job are bathing the animals and running lab work. At home, I have two dogs that keep me busy and bring me so much joy. When I’m not working, I enjoy shopping or spending time with my family and friends. My passion for animal care and commitment to their well-being is what drives me every day, and I’m proud to be part of the amazing team at Crossroads.

I have been working as a kennel technician for four months making me the newest on the team! I recently moved here from Colorado and am going to school at Southeastern Louisiana University. I pride myself on giving each dog the individual care they need and that includes pets, blankets, and play time! Our team works diligently to maintain clean standards and ensure every dog staying with us remains healthy and happy. In my free time I love painting, floral arranging, and going on hikes and nature walks.
